The Independent Breast Screening Review (2018) was announced by the Health Secretary on 2 May 2018 to look into a serious failing in the national breast screening programme in England, which resulted in thousands of women aged between 68 and 71 not being invited to their final breast screening between 2009 and May 2018.

The Independent review is Chaired by Lynda Thomas (CEO, Macmillan) and Professor Martin Gore (Consultant Medical Oncologist and Professor of Cancer Medicine), with Peter Wyman (Chairman, Care Quality Commission) as Vice Chair. It will report in November 2018.
